Alison Bartolucci, PhD, HCLD
Clinical Reproductive Scientist

Dr. Bartolucci leads embryology, andrology, and endocrinology lab initiatives across the First Fertility network focused on measuring and improving pregnancy outcomes and advancing scientific research, as well as compliance and risk management. With over 20 years of leadership experience in clinical embryology, oocyte development research, and clinical laboratory operations, Dr. Bartolucci brings a wealth of expertise and a long-standing history of delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Dr. Bartolucci has served the past 11 years as Operational Lab Director and the High Complexity Laboratory Director of The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services and as the Director of Laboratory Integration and Advancement and Chair of the Lab Advisory Board for First Fertility since 2021. She is also the Assistant Professor of Ob/GYN and Cell Biology at the UCONN School of Medicine, has served on national committees and authored numerous publications and scientific abstracts on reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Paul Lin, MD
Reproductive Endocrinologist

Dr. Paul Lin is one of the founding partners of SRM, one of the largest practices in the Pacific Northwest. He is past President of the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology and current board member of the American Society of the Reproductive Medicine. He is a past board member of the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society. As a result, he is spearheading reproductive specialist policy and procedures, nationally advocating for patients, and increasing access to care. He has lectured extensively on egg freezing, assisted reproductive technology, importance of mental health in fertility care, and business of medicine in fertility. Dr. Lin’s extensive surgical background combined with board certification in both OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility have garnered him recognition from his peers and patients alike. He specializes in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in women with fibroid, endometriosis, and uterine anomalies and has 23 years of experience in reproductive surgery. He is one of the few fertility specialists who also uses the robotic platform for his complicated surgeries. He is the board liaison between the Society of Reproductive Surgeons and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologist. He helps train our future in fertility sparing surgery with surgical fellows. Not only is he experienced in IVF as a provider and leader, but he is also the only fertility specialist who does tubal reversal procedures.

Kyle Orwig, PhD
Fertility Preservation Specialist

Dr. Orwig is a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is also the director of the Fertility Preservation Program and the Center for Reproduction and Transplantation at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. Research in the Orwig laboratory focuses on stem cells, germ lineage development, fertility and infertility. The Orwig lab is ideally located in Magee-Womens Research Institute and Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh and is committed to translating lab bench discoveries to the clinic for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infertility.

Marybeth Gerrity, Ph.D., MBA, HCLD is the President of Reproductive Biology Resources, Inc. which has provided management consulting services to provider networks, clinical practices and specialty laboratories in women’s health since 1983. She is considered a thought leader in understanding and developing the regulatory framework providing patient safety and best practices in reproductive medicine and tissue banking. Dr. Gerrity is also a practicing embryologist and andrologist, has established, built out and directed a number of successful Assisted Reproductive Technology programs and has served as consultant to over 150 others nationwide. Most recently she chaired a SART Task Force on Tissue Banking to address best practices and risk management in Reproductive Tissue Banking. Dr. Gerrity is a frequent invited speaker in the areas of Fertility Preservation in Patients with Chronic Diseases, Risk Management, Tissue Banking, and Reproductive Laboratory Quality Improvement and Inspection Readiness.

Kathleen Hwang, MD, Chairperson
Urologist

Dr. Hwang received her medical degree from New York Medical College. After completing her residency in urology at the University of Virginia, she went on to complete a fellowship in male reproductive medicine and surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in 2011. After seven years at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University as a clinician and research scientist specializing in men’s reproductive and sexual health, Dr. Hwang spent six years at UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh as a professor of urology; director of male reproductive health; and professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. In August of 2024, Dr. Hwang joined the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia as a Professor of Surgery and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as the Director of Men’s Health, where she practices currently. She is one of a small number of specialists in the country who are pursuing the surgeon-scientist career path in the area of male reproductive health and is an active member of the American Association of Tissue Banks and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Hwang’s clinical interests include male infertility and male sexual dysfunction. Her research focuses on new biomarkers of sperm health, new treatment modalities for Peyronie’s Disease, and male fertility preservation in all ages.
